The Story of  Thom
-Shining Craft, Shaped by Time -

It's been more than 30 years.
It is a time of quiet exploration accumulated in order to carve a single line. Tom's jewelry does not follow trends. It contains only the "essence" that has been passed down, refined, and carefully selected.

Tom began his career as a jeweler in San Francisco.
I asked **Alan Revere Academy**.
Casting, stone setting, waxwork - he thoroughly studied all aspects of jewelry making from both theory and practice, and established the philosophy that "beauty comes from understanding the process."

However, his interest did not end with "making." His next venture was into the extremely solitary field of sculpture.
He passed the entrance exam, which was open to only five successful applicants, and studied at GRS Glendale Corporation in Kansas, where he learned the extremely detailed engraving techniques used on Western guns and knives.
The tension cultivated in a world where no compromise is permitted has given his carvings a "quiet dignity."

Tom soon discovered that not only metal but also stone has a will of its own. He visited the Navajo tribe, where he was introduced to the culture and spirituality of stone, and in Hawaii he acquired advanced stone processing techniques at a Lapidary Class.
Currently, he is teaching and sharing his knowledge with others, while creating new expressions that combine Hawaiian jewelry with a variety of natural stones. In many workshops, production is divided into separate tasks.
A sculptor focuses only on carving and does not know the whole picture. But Tom is different. He understands every step and designs with a comprehensive perspective. It is this perspective that allows his jewelry to remain complete from the moment it is completed.

His sculptures are not limited to gold and silver, but also include hard metals such as stainless steel.
This is why we can offer "uncompromising sculptural beauty" to people with metal allergies and those who use their hands heavily on a daily basis.

Tom's original designs, the Silhouette® Collection and Expression® Line, are copyrighted works that combine sculpture and Hawaiian design and have become iconic symbols of LAHANA.

Over the years, he has also created bangles worn by the winners of numerous official pageants, including Miss Hawaii, Mrs. Hawaii, and Miss Teen Hawaii. In 2023, Miss Hawaii won Miss USA, and Tom's bangles also attracted worldwide attention on the Miss World stage.

Furthermore, Tom's skills and character have been recognized, and he is a member of Le Progress de l'Oceanie Lodge, the oldest Freemason Lodge in Hawaii. He has produced numerous Freemason badges and is recommended as "one of Hawaii's finest jewelers."

As the only Hawaiian jewelry jeweler, Tom is officially authorized to create jewelry with the same designs as those once worn by Hawaiian royalty, housed in the Iolani Palace Museum.

The origins of Hawaiian jewelry lie in its creations for royalty. Even today, only a very limited number of people have access to its "authentic lineage." Shen of the music duo Def Tech is also fascinated by Tom's work.
Rings, Zippo lighters, fish hooks, medallions—his jewelry quietly makes a statement on stage and in the media.

The jewelry created by Tom's hands connects the past and the present, technique and spirit, and the ``will'' of the person wearing it.

It was born to continue shining through the ages.
Shining Craft.
